Adult Music Ministry
Chancel Choir
Jason Montague directs the choir with his wonderful talents.... Rehearsals are every Wednesday evening at 6:45 pm and the second Saturday of each month in the new music suite. This is a 30-plus member choir which provides the music leadership during weekly worship. They prepare music ranging from traditional anthems to Gospel to African American Spirituals.
The Chancel Choir has teamed up with other local churches in the past to present large musical works at both Christmas and Easter. They have performed musical drama for Good Friday, and have provided musical entertainment at a local nursing home.
Men's Choir
The Men's Choir rehearses the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:15 pm. This choir provides music for worship as well as for special services in the church and in the community. Open to all men participating in the Chancel Choir.
Women's Ensemble
Open to all women participating in the Chancel Choir. They provide music for 8:30 worship five to six times per year. This choir rehearses the first and third Wednesday of the month at 6:15 pm.
MPC Orchestra
This is a group of instrumentalists, under the direction of Jason Montague, which provide music as needed throughout the year during Sunday worship and special presentations. This group is currently recruiting new members. The orchestra rehearses on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month from 8:15 pm - 9:00 pm.
Adult Handbell Choir
The adult handbell Choir, a Joyful Ring, is expertly directed by Marti Slife and has a dozen talented ringers. This group invites all adults and high school students who have a knowledge of music notation. The rehearsal time is held on Thursday in the Music Suites Bell Room at 6:30 pm.
Children's Music Ministry
Cherub Choir ( 4 and 5 Year Olds)
Little Ones have fun while learning Bible truth through songs under the tender touch and inspiration of volunteer leader Julie Garcia. This choir offers beginning choral training for 4-year-olds through Kindergarteners. Practices are Sundays during Sunday school (usually 9:50-10 am) as well as Wednesdays from 5:30- 5:45 pm in room 102.
Children's Choir
Children's Choir, under the direction of Araminta Montague, continues for children grades one through five. Here, children are taught choral methods using a variety of octavos. They rehearse from 5:00 - 6:00 PM every Wednesday, and also on the second Saturday morning of every month. This choir provides music once a month during church worship. They also prepare and perform two musicals per year—one at Christmas, and one in the Spring. They have performed at the GA National Rodeo (2006), and participated in the 2007 Music Showcase Festival, where they received top grades for their performances.
